Dr. R. N. Samanta

Dr. R. N. Samanta is a distinguished medical professional and administrator with over five decades of experience in public health and institutional leadership. A graduate of SCB Medical College, he earned his MBBS degree in 1970, being recognised as the Best Graduate of his batch. He further specialised in General Surgery, completing his MS from VSS Medical College, Burla in 1979.

Throughout his medical career, Dr. Samanta served in various capacities across the state health system—as Assistant Surgeon, Surgeon, Additional CDMO, and CDMO—before opting for voluntary retirement from government service while posted at Bargarh.

In 2005, he joined Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) as an Administrator. He served as CEO from 2010 to 2016 and later as Advisor to the Founder from 2016 to January 2018.

He is currently serving as Advisor to the Founder, KIIT, KISS, and KIMS since October 6, 2023.
