July 25th to 29th 2022
Organised by:
Departments of Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology, KIMS, KIIT University, Institute of Eminence, Bhubaneswar
Course Objectives:
After attending the course, participants should be able to
- Understand the principles and methodology of laboratory techniques (Agglutination, IIF, ELISA, Line blots) employed in carrying out tests for various
- Analysis and Interpretation of laboratory
- Clinical correlation of various autoantibody tests
Course Description:
The course is intended for MD students and Senior Residents in Medicine, Pathology , Microbiology, Dermatology and DM students in Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology
To Cover
Principles and methodology of laboratory techniques; Agglutination, ELISA, indirect immunofluorescence, Line blot assays and PCR and RT PCR
Hands-on training during the workshop will give the participants a feel of the laboratory test and an insight to various laboratory techniques and idea about the common problems that arise in lab and how to troubleshoot them.
All the participants will be provided an opportunity to perform Agglutination, Immunofluorescence assay for ANA, ANCA, ANA and Myositis Specific autoantibodies by Line blot and ELISA for anti ds DNA, cardiolipin and PR3 and MPO assays with their own hands and discuss the results of their tests with the faculty.
These will be followed by lectures on interpretation of tests in patients having various diseases.
