KIMS Anatomy Department

Overview

One of the earliest departments to begin operations in 2007, the Department of Anatomy now has the virtual anatomy dissection table or Anatomage installed since February, 2022. The Department is likely to be converted to an Authorized Embalming Center for this region in near future. With the new infrastructure development, transactional and dry lab facilities will also be added for upgraded training for students and faculties. Anatomy is the only department in the medical profession which is authorized to preserve the human body after death for study and training to both UG and PG students so that they would become complete caring physicians of the future.

Interestingly, this is the department where the dead teach the living in a sublime way by attending the maximum number of classes in the first professional course in a fifteen-year life span.

As one of the earliest departments to start in KIMS with the recognition of MCI (now National Medical Commission), the Department of Anatomy is now in the process of developing into an updated pre-clinical department with the inclusion of virtual anatomy dissection table, the Anatomage installed in February this year. The Department at present is having infrastructure like dissection hall, library, museum, histology and research lab. The Department is likely to be converted to become an Authorized Embalming Center in near future. With the new infrastructure development, transactional and dry lab facilities will be added for upgraded training of students and faculties.
