The Department of Anaesthesiology at KIMS delivers comprehensive perioperative leadership, advanced critical care, and evidence-based pain medicine. The department oversees the full spectrum of patient care, encompassing rigorous pre-anaesthetic evaluation (PAC), precision intraoperative management across all surgical subspecialties, and vigilant post-operative recovery care extending well beyond the immediate 24-hour period. Anchored in high-reliability clinical practices, the department emphasizes patient safety, continuous quality improvement, and compassionate patient-centred care.
In parallel with clinical services, the department functions as a dynamic center for academic excellence and medical education. It regularly conducts accredited Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs and structured hands-on workshops in advanced airway management, contemporary anaesthetic protocols, and comprehensive pain and musculoskeletal ultrasound. Utilizing advanced, high-fidelity simulation training for critical emergency scenarios, the department equips residents and practicing clinicians with essential crisis resource management skills. The academic stature of the faculty is underscored by more than 150 peer-reviewed research publications in indexed national and international medical journals.
