Overview
The Department of Endocrinology at KIMS is dedicated to providing exceptional care and advanced treatment for a wide range of endocrine disorders. With a team of five highly skilled faculty members, we are committed to offering specialized medical care, education, and research in the field of endocrinology. The department is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, ensuring that patients receive the best in diagnostic and therapeutic services. We proudly run a comprehensive Diabetic Foot Clinic, providing specialized care to manage and prevent complications related to diabetes. In addition, our lab services are fully equipped to support all diagnostic needs, encompassing a wide array of endocrine conditions.
Mission
We also offer a robust educational program, with three DM (Doctorate of Medicine) seats available annually for aspiring endocrinologists, providing them with the opportunity to train under the guidance of experienced and knowledgeable faculty.

Services Provided
OPD Services :
- Diabetes :Comprehensive management of type 1 Diabetes, type 2 Diabetes and gestational diabetes .Screening and management of various micro vascular and macro vascular complications.
- Thyroid: management of Hypothyroidism, Hyperthyroidism, thyroid nodulesand thyroid malignancies.
- Obesity: comprehensive evaluation and management of Obesity and Metabolic syndrome.
- Pituitary :management of functioning and non functioning pituitary tumors ( both pre op and post op).
- Adrenal: Evaluation and management of adrenal incidentaloma, endocrine hypertension (Pheochromocytoma, primary aldosteronism), adrenal cushings, adrenal insufficiency.
- Pediatric Endocrinology: short stature, precocious puberty, delayed puberty, DSDs.
- Bone and Minereal disorders: hypo and hyperparathyroidism, RTA, rickets, Pseudohypoparathyroidsm, osteoporosis.

- Metabolism: dyslipidemia, electrolyte imbalances.

- Diabetes and complications: DKA, HHS, diabetic foot ulcer, retinopathy, nephropathy.
- Thyroid: thyroid eye disease (active).
- Evaluation for adrenal incidentaloma, pituitary tumors.
- Evaluation for acromegaly, Cushing’s syndrome, endocrine hypertension, rickets, short stature, precocious puberty, delayed puberty, DSD, electrolytes imbalances, RTA, polyuria polydipsia

Research and publication
The department has taken up research actively in all areas of Endocrinology. Research is being carried out within the department as well as in collaboration with other departments.Topics dealing medical education and patient care have also been explored.Faculties have a number of national and international publications to their credit and many are under way.
