Endocrinology is a superspeciality unit that deals with the endocrine glands, secretion and actions of hormones and their metabolic consequences like :

  1. Comprehensive management of Diabetes mellitus and its various complications
  2. Thyroid disorders like Goiter, Hypothyroidism, Thyroid cancers, Thyroid eye disease, Hyperthyroidism/Thyrotoxicosis, Percutaneous ethanol injection therapy for cystic thyroid swellings
  3. Obesity and its metabolic complications
  4. Metabolic bone diseases like Osteoporosis, Rickets and Osteomalacia
  5. Disorders of Growth like Short stature, and Pubertal disorders  like Precocious and Delayed puberty in children
  6. Disorders of sexual differentiation like Ambiguous genitalia, Micropenis
  7. Polycystic ovarian syndrome with features of irregular menstruation, Hirsutism (excessive male pattern of hair growth in females), infertility, peri- and postmenopausal syndrome
  8. Disorders of Adrenal glands like Adrenal tumors, Cushing’s syndrome and Adrenal insufficiency, Uncontrolled hypertension
